I've been a pianist for over 30 years, and my background in music informs everything we do. It's not just setting up lights and cameras; it's understanding the flow of a song, anticipating those magic moments, and remembering that the eye follows the ear.
When I moved to Colorado in 2010, I began running sound for a small venue on Pearl Street. Hearing live music night after night was a formative experience, and I wanted to share it with the world. I started filming concerts a few years later, and I haven't looked back.
As a pianist, I've worked as both a studio and touring musician. I've run sound everywhere from coffeeshops and dive bars to amphitheaters and music festivals, and as a videographer, I'm proud to have worked with over 100 Colorado artists & ensembles since 2015.
I've found that having experience on both sides of the stage is essential for this type of production. Understanding the needs of everyone involved- not just the musicians, but also the sound, lighting and stage techs - is the key to a successful (and beautiful) recording.
